More foglight irritations & more.....

It's been said on many occasions that users of foglights when it's not foggy should be a shooting offence.
But yesterday it was very foggy south of Aylesbury and of course I had my fogs on. Was I suprised to see few cars in front, behind me or coming the other way without foglights on???? Maybe, but it was the c
ts who had no lights on at all that shocked me, the fog was thick (like many of the drivers) and you could only see lights at about 100m.
Unbelievable.
Also since I've started to notice how many *numpty's are driving about I've also noticed a lot of drivers with only one mainlight working too often using their foglights or even main beam
to "hide" it.
Sunglasses on at night then.
And on another note while I'm on my
. These blue Xenon headlight severely slow me down, not that they're too bright and dazzingly but they look like 
cars. Oh well.

A numpty :- "A person who makes it so apparent to the average motorist that they are completely unsuited to the technology and complexity of guiding a vehicle on the Queens highway that they should be stopped, dragged from their vehicle, slapped about the head with a copy of the highway code and made to use public transport."
Thus making said Queens highway more accessable to Pistonheaders

However! Some good news on the numpty front.
Out enjoying the sun yesterday - not a cloud in the sky. When a numpty in a Merc pulls out behind us with all lights on full beam! Now this was in full light and they continued to follow us at the usual Merc distance.
So I slow, put my lights on and start flashing the fog light at him, about 30 seconds later he realises what I am doing switches all his lights off and waves an apology! How about that?
Mind you, every time I blinked for the next hour I had a superb rendition of his headlights burned in to my retina.

There is a problem though that in fog, you blind the person following behind you with your rear fog lights - I'd rather see white fog than a big red glow extending 6 feet either side of the car in front. And for front fog lights with other cars on the road there is no need.
Fog lights are only useful on unlight foggy roads in the dark. Not need anywhere else. Some people just don't realise that you can see your headlights!
And on the motorway, with other cars do you really think the foglights let you see any better?

This also applies to those drivers that are too lazy or unthinking to use their handbrake while waiting at junctions / traffic lights and you get blinded by their high-level brake lights.

Especially those on the the new Range Rover, i have to close my eyes behind one of those bloody things when they have there foot on the brake.
So what was wrong with half of the prats on the A303 this morning ?? very foggy and only a few had rear fogs on but loads had shoved the fronts on , like they are going to be of any use in daylight 
most modern car seem to have there wires crossed front fogs come on before the rears ? EH ? the rear fogs are there for safety reasons where as the fronts are useless tat filling holes in the front bumper of a tin box in half hearted attempt to make the thing look like a xmas tree

Seen on the Windsor relief road last week, crappy old Vauxhall Astra, with a red fluorescent tube inside the back window - virtually full width, casting it's warm glow all over the inside of the car.
Any ideas what that was all about then?

don't know about the above, but people in bedfordshire don't have a clue when it comes to foglights
they either have them on all the time (ie rudeboy) this especially annoys me when 1 of them or a main light isn't working, because they look bloody stupid...
no one actually uses their foglights in the fog, then they seem to all switch them on when the fog disperses...
and the classic example i've seen a couple of times is, driving in the fog, the car in front puts their mainbeam on when out of village, or when a car passes and realises they now can't see shit! and brakes to around 20mph, then perhaps a car will come along the road and they switch they're main beam off... now have full vision and accelorate, only to switch they're mainbeam on again when the car passes and brake again!!!

They are cracking down on this in Lancashire I believe. Also possibly on middle lane drivers.

I've noticed recently it's not just young drivers in their saxo's trying to look cool with their foglights on, is all ages and sexes and cheap and expensive cars.
All these people can't be trying to look cool, maybe they think they're safer 'cause people can see them more clearly?
