Probably THE most stressful cinema experience I've ever had.

A brilliantly made film IMO, close camera work makes the whole thing so tense its unreal, go see .. its cool.

If you think that's good, you should see the original Japanese version. That'll have you changing trousers at least twice!

Yeah, very good, and I usually think 95% of films are utter crap.

You've got to go see it at the Cinema though, it relies heavily on close camera shots (so you have no peripheral information) and big sudden changes in sound. Bloomin nerve racking.

It got a really good ending as well, you think its all done and then NOOooo!!! its off again.

Or maybe I'm just a big panzy.

I had a shower this morning and found a hand mark on my arm (must have been the missus - I hope...)

That film was bloody scary - and apparantly there is a Ring 2 and 3 coming out.

Yeah I have to say I was pretty glad when it was over. Not ridiculously gorey or anything - just extremely tense! She never sleeps.....

I managed to see the preview on Wednesday, thanks to the Telegraph for the free tickets - I have to agree about the atmosphere generated by this film.

And it employed some pretty scary techniques guaranteed to give shock value.

I would recommend seeing at the cinema because the sound will generate a much better experience than at home.

Go and see it - excellent film.

Jeez, you guys are a bunch of wussies. I've seen the origional japanese film (all 3 parts) and I watched it alone late at night.
I didn't think it was all that scary.
I don't think that hollywood will have been able to make it any scarier cos the japanese are pretty good at that stuff.
Might still go and see it though. Although it spoils it a buit if you know whats going on and know the ending.

I watched it in December when I was visiting ms mole over in Poland. It was pretty good although the scariest bit was the way she kept jumping at me, she was squeezing me so tight it hurt. And yes, it is scary, especially when you get home but carry on thinking about it. And then things fall off the shelf after the lights are off

hmm seen the jap one, quite scary but not that bad.
Another case of America having to redo a film because subtitles area turn-off for US audiences? I'll wait for the DVD to become available rather than go to the cinema for this one. Will probably be interesting to see how they've changed the story for the American audience...

I saw this film last night - incredible film but v v scary! I think my other half clamped down so hard on my arm that she cut off the blood supply!

The American version is FAR scarier!!! Plus it doesn't rely on the guy coincidentally having ESP to miraculously discover the 'site'.

I think if you've only seen the Japanese one the remake is well worth seeing as it expands on all the areas where the original lacked detail. The two films are very different in execution.
