Or is the BBC running out of ideas?

To be fair I think you might be just slagging the BBC for the sake of it. Fair enough it's not particularly newsworthy but it does only get a small section of the news homepage that is rightly focusing on the Iraq situation. It's also under the entertainment section which tv is a part of so it's maybe not such as big an issue as you have made it out to be.

Come off it - this doesn't even deserve a single byte of webspace - the article is nauseating and pathetic. To have even a single pixel of space on the news front page just reinforces my personal opinion that the BBC's outstanding potential as a news gathering organisation is constantly let down by mediocrity and a focus on issues that seem big in the Hampstead-inhabitaing BBC exec. And I could point out any number of far more worrying examples of BBC bias (the current stirring up of a "Tory party split" perhaps), mediocrity and dumbing down.

However I do note at rpesent the same slot on the BBC News Front Page UK editoin is filled by news of yesterdays dramatic events in Coronation Street - slightly more newsworthy don't you think

Ok, maybe he is, but lets face it this is not news in any way shape or form.
