Replacing my car - any suggestions under 8k (used)

I'm looking to buy a new motor, must be quick, different, entertaining and reliable. Ideally something that i won't lose a packet on come resale and without galactic mileage.

Any suggestions folks?

An Integrale, either a mint 16v or a good EVO 1. That way, in real terms, on real roads, point to point. You will beat anything and still have fun. An old mitsi EVO might do the same job but it will bore the living shite out of you.

And they're not as common as the others either. (Cue comment from Carzee along the lines of 'that's because they've all rusted away7', he is a card that one )

They are, and there are some very good ones out there, just get it checked out by a proper Integrale specialist and you should be fine. You can even buy a warranty from someone like Zagato.

Mine only has 35,000 miles with a full service history and lots of upgrades, I think the next one might well be a Ferrari F40 brake kit to go with the engine rebuild

Followed one the other day and it looked very muscular and 'ard' from behind shame it was driven by a muppet who without any indication braked hard and turned into a side street nearly gaining the motorbike who was behind him in his rear seat

I'd be after less than 8k for it which leaves money for a monster exhasut, chip and boost upgrade = 300hp (ish)

moleamol, can you recommend a specialist to buy an integrale from, i've always fancied one of these but had concerns about reliabilty. Have you had any nasty experiences? anything to be particularly careful of? how long have you been running yours for and what is insurance like?

I have had nasty experiences, yes, but they are down to me not getting it checked out and having lots of power. I'd recommend Kankku, do a google for the address. Barry Waterhouse is renowned in Integrale cirles, his site is www.evocars.com. They can check any out for you, this is what I would highly recommend. My first choice would be a good private one checked out by Bazza.

Insurance is just over £1k a year for me through Adrian Flux, living oop Norf, 2 years no claims, Cat 1 alarm and I'm 23. There is a forum here they are mostly full of knowledge but not as friendly as PHers.
