On the subject of the 'humans shields', their passports should be given the the Gurkhas that fought for us and who we still won't give british citizenship to!
Good point , the little fella`s have helped defend us for many years , it is a discrace how they are being treated re- pensions

Those chaps should have exactly the same pension as regular army. Its an absolute shower that they are having to argue for their rights.

Dead right! The more 2nd world war documentary's I see the more respect these 'old boys' deserve. God, they went through hell for us to sit back and have the freedom to spawn human shields etc. Wer'e just chucking it all away, a bit at a time. Anybody who risked their life fighting for us should be given a passport and full rights. If we can afford to take on board all the foreigners we can afford to treat our gurka friends properly.
unlikely that B2's are in the uk, their range allows them to operate from their home base in (i think it's maryland USA?). For all combat missions they have taken part in so far, B2 steaths have operated from this base only. (that includes strikes on yugoslavia and afghanistan, the afghan strikes were some kind of record for longest bomber mission ever or something...)
F117 stealth fighters and B52's in this country is pretty normal. More likely someone misquoting these.

The B2's are being deployed to Diego Garcia as the prefab hangars and associated kit needed to maintain and support them there are ready. Fairford has been designated as the only other base outside the continental US to handle the B2s - yes they've got the endurance to reach anywhere in the world from their US base but forward deploying them cuts down on mission time, crew and airframe fatigue, and improves turnaround time. The B52 deployment is probably to allow extra flexibility to the regional commanders even though if they do operate from Fairford it will be a long long flight.

t out of them to refuel and fly back. Although there should be plenty of oil/fuel around
