A Nottinghamshire pub landlord is planning to drive from Mansfield to Thailand in his £200 Reliant Robin.
Spike Hughes of Mansfield is proposing to travel across 15 countries and four continents in his 13 year old Reliant Robin.
With the right mechanical checks before we leave, I'm sure we'll make it ... it's only 8 thousand miles after all.
Why you might ask? You might expect him to be doing it for a worthy cause. Nope. He says he's doing it because he's a raving lunatic.
At present he spends six months of the year in Thailand. This year he says he doesn't fancy catching the plane.
The tenant of the Railway Inn on Station Street in Mansfield has already began planning the 8500 mile journey - he's sorted out the cars brakes and the MOT!
The routes all planned out. From Mansfield I'm aiming for Chesterfield and then on to Thailand.
