I want another 2.8 Capri why is this ? i think im loosing my marbles
Is this in anyway connected to the time of Saturday night it is and the amount of alcohol consumed? I have a vaguely similar problem in that each Sat/Sun morning I wake up to find tapes/CD's/vinyl in-situ in my hi-fi recorded by bands that I spend the whole week slagging off to my friends and work mates and swear I never listen to. Obviously burglars are breaking into my house and putting them there...

Err i think i will give a probe a miss (oooer)
the capri was ultimate fun because there was no driver aids apart from a steering wheel and 3 pedals , had an old 140bhp 2.8 v6 injected lump , cart sprung rear axle , So you could have loads of fun under the legal limit
the focus im drivin now just does the job with out fuss , You could call it boringDennis

Made me think about my old 2.8i.
Fantastic motors. Used to take mine to Tangmere airfield on a regular basis, easily topped 130mph up the runway. Sold it over 12 years ago after four years happy motoring. I even saw it two weeks ago driving through town, still looked and sounded fantastic. Must be 18+ years old now, I wish I'd kept it, must have been a good one!

lmao.. just trotting through the ads in autoraider for any 280 Brooklands.. I wonder which master wordsmith crafted this particular advert..
errrr.. I get the sense he's either just found his boss shagging his wife or he's going to lengths to manage expectations as to the worthiness of this particular car..

Mike i really regret selling mine , but money was tight so it had to go , and it broke my heart seeing it disapear round the corner , a TVR might make me grin but not for the beer money the capri cost me ! yes it was crude but it was also bloody good fun ,never forget your capri

Yup... all that funky stuff in the middle caught me unawares though. I'm trying to get hold of the theme tunes to the Sweeney and Minder in Kazzar but can't seem to get the right combination of keywords. Any ideas?
Regards Capri’s… 2.8i is the one for me. Also Cortina MK IV Crusader was rather nice. Has the same motor as I recall :illgetmecoat:
. FYI Malta is full of 60’s – 70’s Brit Fords with not a spot of rust on them because there loads of Brit armed forces that wanted to sell when we were kicked out and it never rains there. Worth a look if you’re an enthusiast. I’ve seen a couple of spotless Capri MKIII’s over there. Bringing back the memories now.....I had a 3.0l Capri ghia(white with a black vinyl roof
) at the time, about 1982/3, I thought it was the dog's, it did an indicated 125mph and used almost as much water as petrol thanks to a blown head gasket - when I changed the gaskets I found cracks between the intake and exhaust valves on 4 cylinders
(apparently they do that if they run hot due to no water) strangely it never seemed to go as well after the gasket change....water injection maybe
A real hoot on wet roundabouts though
However I have Noooo desire to own another!!

Well I presume you mean the dark green.. I have to admit in that photo the car looks black but I guess they were all the one colour.
Ridiculous vehicles but enormous cult petrolhead value
Edited to wonder how many former owners would admit to sliding across the bonnet on their arses in a Bodie & Doily styleee at some point
Come to that.. how many of us have got into our cars in a dukes of hazard stylee? More to the point, who welded my feckin doors shut?

Oh s**t...
Just down loaded this: "Sweeny Todd - The Ballad of Sweeney Todd". Is this not the theme tune to God's own TV series ? Sounds like some poncey opera crap to me... Am I just a philistine ? I can't see John Thaw or Dennis Waterman singing this crap... I'll be back when I've got the right MP3's...
