Sorry for posting under an alias people.

My GF has recently started going out rather a lot with colleagues from work. Last night however, she didnt come home - I was at work today so ive no idea what time or in what state she came back in. Nothing much on its own but i read her mobile bill today £200! Mainly to a land line and a mobile number for up to an hour and a half during the day and evening. Neither of which are in her phone book on her mobile. Also there are no messages at all in her phone which kind of makes me suspicious as i normally have at least a few and ive checked this on a couple of occassions - no messages. She is also talking about going on holiday with a friend as i have trouble getting time of work.

any thoughts please?

What would you do if you were the person attempting to cheat? Would you behave like your GF?

As Den says, phone the number. Wrongly dialed numbers are a fact of life, use that excuse and ask to whom you are speaking, anything to get information.

Put the number in google - you never know. Don't forget the groups. Long shot? I dunno.. people get lax and google knows all..

Buy her some flowers or fck her. It works, they love attention so perhaps a bit more of that?

Hmmmm,

Could be completely innocent but I doubt it.

Ask yourself:
Has she suddenly started going out with work whereas she didn't at all before, or has it been gradual?
Has she mentioned any new colleagues?
Has she suddenly become much happier than usual?

We've all failed to come home at some time or another but the length of the calls and the attempt at covering her tracks does not bode well.

I feel very sorry for you it is an awful situation to be in, it is hard to know wether to confront her or not without more evidence.

Yeah, my wife suddenly started acting like a slapper. I just couldn't be bothered, so I left.

Not much help, I know: sorry.

Check her mobile phone address book. The number will be in there somewhere. If she's cheating, it will be hidden, so see if there is anything suspisious like; 'Claire mobile' then 'Mobile Claire' or 'Claire Mobile 1'. Check both the simcard and phone memory.
Also check the message folders in the phone, she may have stored them under a folder name. Try to access her emails if you can get her address & password. (probably illegal but i'd do it anyway). Check her credit card receipts for restaurants, etc..
Come home unexpectedly from work or visit her at home unexpectedly if she lives alone and not with parents.
Or you could just confront her with what seems reasonable evidence so far!

Mr paranoia.

IMHO that does sound very suspicious, almost to the point she wants you to know something is going on. I think the signs are pretty clear and, if it were me, I would be out of there asap. Just my 2p worth though and everyone is different. good luck either way.

First of all let me say how sorry I am, its a shitty situation. But take it from me she is cheating. How do I know? Because its exactly how I got caught. Do like my wife did ring the number, get it all out in the open, decide if your gonna carry on and take it from there.

Get a grip, of course she's cheating! And she obviously isn't too bothered about getting caught. Either split amicably now, or ignore it and cheat on her and leave a little clue around.

Get a drop dead gorgeous escort , take her for a drink or meal and make sure you're seen.

Then empty her shampoo bottle and replace with immac but change your locks on the doors etc afterwards and hide your car.

Stupid, and not very er, endearing - you might start out by starting to like your own company before doing stuff like that - come out with me and mungo an flasher and mel and probably benno - but he might be a bit too good looking.. for instance - see how sad it really gets...
And what use is taking an escort out for a meal? Silly tart... what did she expect... you almost sound like a real person.. (sorry ..sensitive.. from the origional post...) what more could a girl want? Apart from money, status, ready made meal ticket, T350C, etc..

Then empty her shampoo bottle and replace with immac but change your locks on the doors etc afterwards

Stupid, but funny and hide your car.

Nope, just go away - you're better than her.

And 20 odd thousand also think so too mate.

Unless she really has found the best friend wot she used to have before she met you and is spending some 'quality time' with her of an evening cause she knew she wouldn't mind if she spent the night with her...

Would you..

Don't forget the old joke - you might strive reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly hard and work propper northern hours and ting an tings sir,

but if only we had a S****horpe, it would all be free - we woul'd all marry dentists, an employ fit gardeners

- they're all bastards IMHO

Hmmm, any one want a second hand hippy?

Best off asking her whats up. Id rather know than worrying about it all the time. You could start by asking her who she has ben chatting to on her phone for so long.

That would've been her best mate from before you were together, and they had loads of catching up to do..

so phone her mate [sic]

Only, she's either gonna be on her side, or she wants to shag you - not so misterious now eh..

Firstly dont jump to too many conclusions. Just sit her down and simply ask her whats happening and why the huge phone bill. She may have had too many drinkies with her mates and crashed on someones couch to save driving etc. If you cant get any clear answers out of her, well then yes ring those no's. After that ask yourselves where the relationship is going? No point dragging it out. If she is getting peeved off not being able to spend quality time with you cause your busy, well hello maybey you should compromise a bit too.
Good luck
Kylie

And the result is...CHEATING

She has apparently been seeing, shall we say, a junior from her work since January . In all fairness she did tell me the truth when I confronted her about this as I think she appreciated I would walk if she tried lying about it. Which I found some reassurance in.

It was the usual story of something new and exciting in her life as I tend to be either at work or too tired to do anything on a night. Still sports cars don't come cheap but they are faithful at least - I never find mine shacked up in a strange garage with a sexy yellow tamora in a morning .

So where now? Well call me stupid but her honesty has at least left something to build on. We have decided not to split up at present but recent events will nevertheless add some strain to what must have been a slightly shaky foundation anyway. We will see.

Thank you all for your advice.
