Time for a vaguely on topic thread....
I've just bought a Nokia handsfree kit for me phone, and I'm too tight to pay someone to fit it for me.
The instruction manual says I need to find the following:
the +voltage on the vehicles power supply
a good negative GND connection
a +12v voltage controlled by the vehicle's ignition key
and electrician
Any ideas where I can find all that lot? It's a Laguna if it makes any difference.

when I fitted mine I used the cables in behind the radio as it had a link to that anyway (automute), red for +12 black for gnd and yellow for switched +12, this may vary obviously for a laguna as opposed to my mundano. get a multimeter and check the connections ign on and off to make sure. i have seen orange used for switched 12V on some cars (I think astra's have that).
Orange state that the power supply must come stright from the battery and an earth must be ground to the car and not spliced in on the original loom . on the laguns in the centre console is a mulit plug you can get a live and switched ignition from here earth on to the metal frame behind the glove box and to find radio mute put the multi meter on contiuity test and probe the wires on the rear of the audio unit its a white pink i think, make sure you get a smart bracket so you dont have to drill the dash

Does this make a significant difference to the quality? Is this just orange coverin their backs, or are they all done like this?

whoops, already drilled the dash and put the cradle in. Doesn't bother me as i'll probably be the last owner the car has anyhow.
I'll ge me haynes manual out and have a look. I don't want to do too much taking to bits as i've already had to by £40 worth of tools, so it'll get to the point when i'll have spent more doing it myself than getting it done by a pro.
See www.dashmount.co.uk if you don't know where to get a "smart bracket". Had one in my 306 - good bit of kit. Sadly the guy that installed it broke a load of trim round the radio, so it was a bit of a wasted effort.

The battery thing is orange covering there backs . just take the supplys off the rear of the radio just remember to put the 2 amp fuse in the main power supply and 1 amp fuses on the radio mute and ign , if you drop the glove box out there is loads of room to put the box pop out you interior light and mount the mic by it run the cable down the a pillar to the rear of the glove box , put your speaker on the kick panel in the passenger footwell and just use a tax disc ariel in the corner of the windscreen and again run the cable to the cradle , you can put the ign (blue) and power (red) wires together if you dont want the phone to keep powering down when you turn the ignition off
Good good. The wiring loom's arriving tomorrow hopefully (they forgot to put it in the box). It's got fuses inline allegedly (Nokia CARK91 if anyone cares).
There's a space in the dash just above the drivers knees where the speaker for the trip computer should go, i'll see if i can fit the speaker in there. If not, i'll put it where you said.
Thanks four your help everyone, much appreciated. Muchos
