Does anybody find the chewing gum advert with the man puking up a dog offensive? I know I don't, I think it's hilarious.

It was on the news that a small number of people are complaining about it being offensive...

I thought it was hilarious too.

Surely the only people it can offend are people who have been told that they have dog breath.

I think it's the same old "I get offended by everything people" who complain about everything.

They should be gagged

Im not offended by it (after all its not my dog), but it is a bit close to the edge in a "gross thing to watch at dinner time" type of way.

I agree, a tad disturbing to the unprepared.

I must admit the first time I saw it I found it a little unsettling. Very clever advert though, catches your attention.
BUT next time you end up in that situation, and is has happened a couple of times and I bet you will think of that add and it might push you over the edge

I found it a bit disturbing and don't like it. There's something offensive about it. Maybe it's because they can do anything a bit sick with modern technology. That said, I've only seen it once so it's not being rammed down my throat, no pun intended. How much will these sicko's go to and what will they spend to make you buy their brand.

I wasn't feeling especially brilliant when I first saw this and almost , but now I don't really care. Not that I watch adverts that much.

Gotta be said the advert is memorable, but I only found out it was for wrigleys when I heard the news yesterday. So not great product placement.

Yes, I didn't know what it was for straight away either. Some adverts are to obscure and complicated for their own good.

Apparently there were a few complaints to the adverstising board (4, to quote the radio) but the agency said it was funny and decided to leave it to air!

I reckon it gets the message across and like all of us, we remember the advert!

Yea, it's really clever how they do it. That guy must have had to eaten at the WORST Korean restaurant in Britain.

Its also slightly ironic that when people comlain it means loadsa free publicity for the company/product.

You can't pay for that kind of exposure.
So by complaining the numpties are helping the company.

Crap advert and (probably) a complete rip off of the scene out of Peter Jackson's masterpiece "Braindead".

"Your mother ate my dog!"

"Well, er not all of it.."

Wrigley's drop 'dog breath' advertisement

A chewing gum advertisement which featured a dog crawling out of a man's mouth has been taken off air earlier than planned after it prompted a record number of complaints.

The commercial for Wrigley's X-cite - first aired on March 3 - sparked 570 complaints from viewers in the first 10 days alone, said the Independent Television Commission.

In a statement the Wrigley Company apologised to those who might have been offended by the advert, but insisted that the campaign was enjoyed by "the vast majority" of viewers.

The company said: "The Wrigley Company has decided to replace the current advertisement for X-cite in response to the concerns raised by a small proportion of viewers.

"While this campaign was enjoyed by the vast majority of people, it was only intended to run for a limited time.

"However, we have taken the decision to replace the advertisement slightly earlier due to the concerns of some viewers.

"We apologise to any viewer who may have been offended by the advertisement. However our intention was, and remains, to communicate the benefits of the X-cite brand in an impactful and engaging manner."

The X-cite commercial was intended as a humorous way of illustrating how the gum can get rid of "dog breath".

It featured a man who wakes up on a sofa beside a half-eaten kebab after a night out. He retches and a paw comes out of his mouth, followed by a scruffy grey dog.

I've not seen it and now I'm not going to have a chance to make an informed decision.

It's been binned. A good decision if you ask me. Kids were scared of it, some adults vomited and at the end of the day it lacked taste, he he!
