I know it's been raised before, but does anyone know a cheap and reliable way to ship stuff to Australia?

how big Bruce ?

The Timeout magazine and the other Oz magazines in London have the best deals but it does depend on the size. I shipped a 7 series BM to Oz for a thousand pounds including insurance.

Email lovemytvr (Neal Garrett) - he's in the shipping business and will be able to provide you with an accurate ballpark figure (if that's not a straight contradiction in terms )

Errm, 9 cubic feet is only 1/3 of a cubic metre

Sorry to be a bit of a pedant

You're probably right. I once ordered gravel to cover the front garden to a depth of about three inches, when this huge truck arrived and the driver told me that I would have gravel up to my armpits! Not good with cubes (unless we're talking engine capacities!)

Pickfords have a small load service that goes by sea, takes up to 3 months and not expensive. Airfreight would be about £300 as long as it is not too heavy
hope this helps.

Make sure you get it all insured - a mate moved his stuff back to NZ - saved on insurance and they helped themselves to about half his stuff!

Fortunately the guy driving the tipper truck actually knew what he was doing and only tipped out a fraction of the load he had - which was about the the right amount! I had to pay for him to ship the rest of it back to the depot though (although I didn't pay for the whole load!)
