Grrr, not on blimmin BBC Scotland it's not. We get the fabulous River City at 8pm, so everything else gest shunted back half an hour at hte expense of anything interesting.

Anyone with clever PC and video gubbins, please record it and post a copy somewhere on the net.

Edited to say: we get it on friday night at half 9, at the expense of Jasper Carrot. So it's not all bad, just mostly.

Pretty good - had seen that Skoda bit before - just before I went out and bought mine actually!
My favorite doesnt go the same though

The plain wrapper - on the radio with one hand whilst doing 90 in the wet - The our boy JEDD THE ENFORCER gives Mr avaerage a ticket for using his mobile phone, causes a jam on the brow of a hill, then Houghton (one of the fastest and safest pursuit drivers in the country) says he finds you treat people as you would wish to be treated - tell JED!

I dont think Id have coughed the accident though - perhaps using the fishtail to bring a dangerous pursuit to an end!
- doesnt help when your mate slips you one from behind though

Granny muggers get a slap on the wrist
I know it was a custodial sentence but not much of one

What was remarkable was the driver of the unmarked volve being on the hand held radio phone whilst driving in the wet and dark. Why don't police car have hands free kits, or do they now?

yeah but even if they had've done her over, the cops would probably wait until they had got back in their car and committed a road traffic offence!

We do, we normally have a handheld for when we get out of the car. However, the transmission quality on the handsfree leaves a lot to be desired, esp when on a blue light run with all the noise on, thus we sometimes resort to the personal radio.

The thing which really worried me was the absolutely ridiculous seating position that the BiBs were using. Too far back, fingers just about touching the wheel, seatback at a slope backwards (always hauling himself upright with the wheel!!!) or was that just to give seating room to a fat camera (man)? BAD driving skills in my book! (PS I've driven CP professionally, Army)

What the Hell happened to the correct seating position? i.e. Distance from wheel with an upright seat back is the inside of the wrist on the top of the wheel etc etc etc
IT's a wonder that these guys didn't lose control(?).......perhaps a good teacher.
MAdcop or Relax, Any comments???

Good TV that, although the programme makers seem to be subtley trying to make the plod look like a set of tw@ts, the phone thing etc.

Anyway if you remember last weeks 355 driving, fog light flashing wide boy, seems like it was an MR2 after all

Got that from the sxoc board BTW.

I must say if the idea was to show these guys in a good light as professional, competant and fair they failed. If however the makers set out to do a Martin Bashear on the Traffic Cops they did a very good job indeed. Never before have I seen such a collection of opionated, biggoted and outright pretentious tossers in (or in one case out) of uniform. The whole contradiction of one "ticket disher" nicking a man who was driving competantly and without any noticable degradation in driving while his colleague conducted a high speed pursuit while picking up and putting down a handset and yapping away merrily was too much to stomach, I turned it off shortly after that.

I was suprised at a lot of the driving, but the 3 guys they couldn't catch in the Skoda who they eventually caught in the Vectra after they had stolen £400k of goods & cars.I thought I heard the main guy got 2 1/2 years & the other 2 got sentenced for 1 year each....
Now from the way they were driving & the police were driving, somebody could have been killed or worse! Even the "top" police guy had an accident with them.

Considering the reaction in society today for doing 101 mph on a clear motorway on a nice day,I couldn't beleive how lightly these guys were treated in light of potential consequences let alone the fact they had be theivin'.

Having taken part in several productions myself where professional TV crews are in the vehicle, I can tell you that the lens they use to get a wider frame in the shot gives the impression of a bad seating position.

I would also say that many people have different degrees of comfort and control in relation to their seating position. There is no definative amswer to how someone should sit when driving as long as they look and feel comfortable whilst doing so.

For me, the most comfortable position is arms slightly bent and a slightly reclined seat back, the seat poistion relativey high from the vehicle floor. Also so that operation of the clutch allows the pedal to be fully depressed so that it does not quite engage the floor pan.

I have worked with a couple of very competent extremely highly qualified drivers who have surprisingly laid back positions in the driving seat. It did not affect my confidence in them or their own ability . Horses for courses is the maxim I believe.

Consider the two types of Justice in this country then.

Those that have jobs, partners, children, houses, nice possessions, nice cars, a foriegn holiday, savings , money etc are kept in line by the fear of losing either or all of the list above. That is why the courts have so much power over decent people.

Those that do not give a fcuk, have nothing to take other than their liberty or goods which they have come by from dubious/sinister means and will be replaced by the same means.
A few months in the Pokey is no real hardship for them where they will still get their drugs, sex (don't bend over to pick up the soap ), food and warmth and a 'friends re-united' feel to their stay.

That is why there is such a problem in dealing with people that blight the lives of decent people.
The system does and cannot exact punishment that bothers them, whereas you....... are another matter!
