New car party launches

Now there's a political voice for motorists

Abolish them, says Car Party
Abolish them, says Car Party
Do you think the Government should take more notice of the motorist? Now there's a car-focused party that promises to achieve just that.

The Car Party says that: "For too long the British motorist has been suffering in silence", calling itself "a moderate voice for the car driver in the UK without exaggeration to the negative."

It has views on a range of issues, including taxes, road tolls, road safety, 4x4s and bus lanes. On speed cameras, the party says that Gatsos have failed, and that it will campaign for their abolition.

While the Web site is a little bare, it could be the start of something big.

They really don't need to say too much about policies, other than that they have some interests of the motorist in mind - they've got my vote thumbup

See, i thought much the same, except people would have parties around their cars just for the love of cars.

Thinking about it, this doesn't happen nearly enough.

Is a basic website, thrown together in half an hour, all it takes to become a policital party these days?

As for "cyclists should be taxed" - for what, exactly? Damage to the road network?

At first glance I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

It's a very good concept, but before I part with my hard-earned I would expect to see more investment from the party itself, particularly addressing the poor website with its Paypal links.

There is no professionalism evident, which raises many more questions. Is it a registered party, or just someone wanting to make a few quid?

So basic we've crashed it. Well it is the car party.

My thoughts exactly and why are there no details of the ‘people’ who have started it, except for a reference to ‘Maureen’?

NB unless i was so side tracked by everything else on their site and missed that bit, in which case I apologise.

Its about time someone realised that although the NHS, Schools, Crime all have an important place in a politicians agenda....So does the motorist!

They are the easiest of targets...you cant make a stand against the price of petrol if you have to get to work! And what are your alternatives??? Public transport is a joke....it isn't public...its private! They make a fortune through subsidies and give nothing back to the people that it is aimed towards.

So maybe this is just the beginning, the Tories should jump on this idea and start working towards coming up with a fair method of charging road users...and also realising that, maybe just maybe, the vehicle is a vital tool in industry.

Because they get in the way of car/lorry drivers who have paid their taxes. The worse are horses; 2 wide on a road I've paid to drive on and they haven't.

great idea, I recon they would do really well, I just dont think the name "the car party" is right.

should have went for a more general name but with the same ideas for improving the lives of the average motorist, just think pigeon holing it "the car party" could automatically put some would be voters off.
