Looks Like its been photoshopped on and as said above, it figures that it would be an advert as the 'D' has been missed off the end so as not to be too rude and upset little old ladies.

thing is, the curvature of the letters matches the curve of the bodywork...

although the advert thing sounds likely, after all you'd be embarrassed to park that in the middle of didsbury! especially as where it is tends to be the place for poseurs to park
