Sell by date

Has oil got a used by date,i,ve got some mobil 1 5 40 in the garage which is about 2 years old is it still usable?

Should be OK.

It will have been underground for thousands of years. Another couple wont harm.

On a similar note, a colleague of mine set up a natural spring water business in Cumbria a couple of years ago - the label on the bottle described the 4 billion years to shape the Cumbrian landscape, then the bottle carried an expiry date of a year or so! Always amused me.
