A new topic then, that i thought of whilst going through my cd collection...
Imagine a drive across Europe you have a six disc changer in the boot. What CDs would you take for your marathon journey???

Pulp - Different class,
Simon and garfunkel - Bridge over troubled water
Dave Mathews Band - Crash (no pun intended)
Oasis - The Masterplan
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours.
The Rolling Stones - 40 Licks

but there'd be a couple of dozen more in the glovebox

- Anything with Cockney Rebel's "Come up and see me"
- Jamiroquoi - Travelling without Moving
- Any 80's compilation
- Kylie - Fever
- Pulp - Different Class
- Spin Doctors - Pocketfull of Kryptonite

Just as an aside, "Come up and see me" is one of my top tracks of all time since I first heard it on a Rik Mayall 1-hour special called "Dancing Queen" - which was also the first time I saw, and heard, a Griff 500. Anyone else remember that?

Unless you have the complete collection of Police albums this appears to be a little off topic?

King Crimson - Red
Genesis - Trick of the Tail
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Queen - Greatest Hits (2 CDs? - cheating)
Led Zeppelin - The Collection (preferably the 4 CD collection - more cheating)
Iron Maiden - The number of the beast

Sheer bliss.......

An eclectic mix:-

The Tragically Hip - Road Apples
Richard Thompson - The Old Kit Bag
Rush - Fly By Night
Joni Mitchell - Hejira (American Indian word approximating 'journey')
Stryngs - The Thrill Of Maintaining Momentum (had to slip that in )
George Carlin - anything (comedy, not music, for when stuck in huuuage traffic jam)

Wasn't that the one where Helena Bonham-Carter got her top off?

Certainly do.. Thats one of the things that reminded me I really must buy a TVR.. Never been able to look at Helena BC in quite the same way since that..

Have to think about the music and get back on that one..

I like a mixture:

Some Dance and a bit of Rock, with a bit of cheesy pop. I'll also whack Classic FM on now and again, depending on my mood.

ANYTHING but the miserable drivel produced by ColdPlay and David (dull and) Gray, and that cocky Twt Robbie Williams.

For Dance I would choose:
Hard House: Lisa Lashes/BK/Andy Farley
Hardcore: Force & Styles/DDR
Trance: Gatecrasher/Reactivate/Slinky

For Rock:
Foo Fighters
Blink 182
Sum 41
Alien Ant Farm
American Hi-Fi
Saliva
Rage Against the Machine

Pop:
Will Smith
Jamiriquai
Lene Marlin
BB Mack

My GOD!! Theres going back some, i have that track!! FANTASTIC

1)Fleetwood Mac: Rumours, is good even though I'm a young 'un i think its a good album
2)Led Zep:II
3)Sisters of Mercy: Slight Case of Overbombing, cos I've just been reminded of it
4)The Music: (self titled?) Most decent new rock orientated album i've listened to for a while
5)And of course my default - anything by The Clash: (Probably) From Here to Eternity, cos its live..!
6)One of my bro's numerous HipHop albums, don't care which, they're all pretty good as long as its no gangsta MoFo!!

[Back up CD - Hendrix of course!]

Depending on the weather or my mood or where i'm driving.
On a long drive the following are quite good (I think):

The Eagles - Hotel California, Life In The Fast Lane, etc.
Tracy Chapman - Fast Car
Matchbox 20 and Counting Crows are also played frequently.
Not forgetting a couple of compilations including love 2 rock and Drive Time.

On hot days when i have the windows open i like a bit of hip hop - DMX, 2Pac and Jay-Z and some club music when i'm in a hurry (Is it me or do you drive differently when listening to different types of music?)
