Holden mate, you're nicked

Oz traffic cops get new Monaros

Which one is mine?
Which one is mine?
Imagine seeing one of these in your rear view mirror on the M1. This is what Australia’s traffic cops get to play – sorry, work - with in the Northern Territories. The law has taken delivery of a batch of new Holden VE Commodore SS models, which are due in the UK soon as the next Vauxhall Monaro. Feel the force.

So what's the most outrageous police cars (marked or sleeper) in the UK - past and present? I'll get the ball rolling with the following:

Escort Cosworth
Mitsubishi Evo IX
Golf R32 (Older One)
Range Rover Vogue

They a not Monaros so please don't call them that. The Vauxhall model is called the VXR8 and is infact an HSV Clubsport R8 which is based on the Commodre.

One Gallardo was dressed up in Met colours for a Lambo gathering but I think that's it. There is one police Gallardo over here in Italy, got overtaken by it once, and it was... how to put this... "making progress..."

Lambo UK inspired publicity stunt.

It was pictured outside the Ace cafe.

I've seen an RS6 pulling a guy over on the M6 and I have seen a 911 C4S sat on the hard shoulder of the M4 having just pulled someone over.

hehe Not bad for bragging matches in the pub if you do get pulled by one.

But this is the exact reason why I dont speed on the motorway. I dont agree with the imposed 70mph speed limit but I stick to it whenever I can as I fear any half way decent car could be a police car and there are so many cameras about nowadays.

I stick to the B roads, thats where all the fun is to bed had!

That makes two of us, I was passed by the Gallardo from Brenner to Trento. It was making progress, as we were stuck in traffic going nowhere and he was hooning down the hard shoulder. The only time I have ever wished to be in a cop car.

PH's very own Lambo Cop is the man behind that, it was at Gumball as well.

As for the original article, usually only the Au highway patrol get the Commodore SS models, ordinary cops have to make do with the base model V6 version for transporting their doughnut supply.

They also have had a variety of oddball cars like this Lotus Exige (how do they fit in it?)

Chrysler 300C

FPV Typhoons

and of course the actual Monaro

I believe Essex Police had a Ford RS 200 on their fleet, albeit a good while ago.

Interesting that Holden decide to badge as SS with a badge that looks just like that of the Waffen SS. Seems tailor made for the Victoria Police...

Not strictly related as the original post refers to Police cars in the UK but the Flying Squad in Rome in the 60's had a Ferrari 250GTE...

I've seen a dark blue C4S in Reading complete with Kojak light - I thought that was pretty cool

Sounds like a publicity thing again.

They certainly ran Sapphire Cosworths for a bit, and ST200's...
