Well one particular pissed up one who smacked his Civic into a friends car when it was parked outside last night. The Fabia is dead. Unfortunately I suspect my landy is the same as he hit the Fabia with enough force to ram the two together before scraping the rear of his car along the van parked opposite and mashing my wing, door and offside steering. His car landed on its roof smacking another car and missing my new ZT by a foot or two.

The Fabia is dead, the van has a mark that'll polish out and the Fiesta has a dent on the rear quarter. My landy has a fcuked bullbar (ARB - the best I could find), bent steering, fcuked wing and door and suspect bulkhead. She'll move under her own steam but the throttle is jammed wide open.

It's a bit of an ignominious death for a car that took us to Cape Towncry

The tt that did it is unhurt, but we believe insured and the BiB took him away in cuffs (FWIW, and I think they ignored me when I asked them to leave him with me for ten minutesevil). If I can take anything amusing away from this it's the drunken ramblings he had while he waited about how his girlfriend had told him she was a lesbian. I don't blame her at all.

Now, where's Anniesdad?

I'm really sorry to hear about that mate.

I hope the pcensoredk gets the book thrown at him and gets sent down. Is there nothing you can do to save the Landy?

Did the BiB say anything constructive when they came to collect him?

Unfortunately that sort of thing only happens to the truly dangerous. You know, 150mph on a motorwayrolleyes

Dunno. I haven't had a look in daylight yet so she might be salvageable. TBH though we're selling her anyway, so I could do without the hassle of sorting it.

Before they carted him off for drunk driving and failure to provide they established that he is insured. Nice bunch of guys who were clearly far too well practiced in dealing with crap like this

It's a sad state of affairs when you can drive perfectly safetly on a quite straight motorway (when conditions allow ) at high speed and end up in prison if you are caught. But if you drink drive, cause property damage and endanger yourself and other people you can end up with a ban and fine.

I'm sure one of the resident BiB's can fill us in on what the penalties are for what that moron has done, I would like to find out.

I do hope this guy gets what he deserves.

Good luck with the Landy though, they are pretty hardy, I've got a Series III currently sat on the drive in pieces. A mate of mine bought it and is slowly rebuilding it in time for the big Landy show next month.

Bill, I suggest that you give our resident friendly fellow copper Silverback Mike a call - if you don't have his number, give me a tinkle and I'll give it to you. He should be able to keep you properly imformed, and I suspect, ensure that things are done properly (i.e. hopefully maybe drop some Optrex in his tea or something).

Really sorry to hear about that, things were all looking so good, I'll try and pop round before going to Cardiff today, but think of it this way: 1. At least nobody close to you was harmed, and 2. At least the MG wasn't hit.

You could always try for the max out of the insurers and you never know, you may make a bob or two (but I doubt it)...

Speak to you later...

Some consolation is that he is (AFAYK) insured......
My mate lives on Soundwell Road, his last 2 company cars have been hit by uninsured drivers - the last car was only 800miles old and an Impreza narrowed it by about a foot!

Quite. Considering the adventures and terrain that vehicle has covered it is a very sad unjust way to go out.

I hope they throw the book at the scrote, D&D and speeding down a tight residential road like yours. Still cheer up, the government brainchild scamerati scum can make £1,000'000s a week by zapping people on empty A roads with absurd limits, rather than putting traffic plod on the roads and getting dangerous shorpes off the roads.

Having just been round to enjoy some of Bills very fine cake and coffee, I can report that indeed whilst the Landie is a bit of a mess, we had a waffle about it, and we're sure that we can sort something out.

Either way, we both agree that it was very lucky (indeed for the scrote) that the MG wasn't hit.

Like we said, as some friends of Bills were just leaving to get into their Skoda that was hit, at least nobody (innocent) was hurt, although timing was very lucky as it could have been very very messy if they had gone out to their car earlier...

All in all, the kiddies going to get his just desserts hopefully.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for the poor landie

The muppet's carrolleyes

Doesn't look that much
