Seen in the paddock at Brands on the weekend. Like the styling, properly purposeful looking thing, MAHOOSIVE brakes unbelievable perormance figures and its the first Ive ever heard of one.

Anyone driven one and want to share their thoughts?

I saw a blue one in France on the motorway between Nice and Montpellier, unfortunately it was stopped just after the toll booth. It was either broken down or the driver was having a breather but it looked great. Much better in the metal as it were. Looks very purposeful, loved it.

I like it

Looks like the result of a drunken one night stand between a Porsche CGT, Bugatti Veyron & a Lola T70

hehe

I love them and I'm glad that there are such, well, scary looking supercars out there as the total antithesis to the pretty Zonda's, Murkylargers etc.

Here's a vid that I'm sure will divide opnion amongst the PH massive!

Quite an astonishing car, very striking looks which from some angles I love, and others I hate. Great performance and a mean sound smile

Not knowing much at all about them I had a quick gander and saw the wikipedia article about them. Certainly an eye opener but a few things jump out at me;
1)the huuuuge 190k price tag and the fact that there's still options like carbon fibre bits on top of that should you be so inclined
2)the company name Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur doesn't really roll off the tongue.
3)it's mentioned in wikipedia (which i far from the be all and end all) that it's a competitor to porsche's GT3, how exactly? the performance is incredible if the claims of 0-60 in 3 secs dead and 224 mph top speed are anywhere near accurate, so it whips the porsche in that respect, but it's also twice the price and then some, much lower production numbers, different configurations altogether. Or is it just the case that porsche have become the name lots of manufacturers want to beat?

I particularly liked this bit;

wikipedia article said:
It produces an astonishing 1500kg of downforce at 330km/h, enough to allow the car to drive on the ceiling without falling of
hehe

Still, anyone who can knock out cars of this caliber and make them work certainly deserves a pat on the back, remarkable achievement. Hope to see it get a bit more exposure for our viewing pleasure smile

Maybe he subscribed to the urban legend that they time you between toll booths, so was leaving a decent gap to only then cane it and still arrive at the next booth with a reasonable 'average' time smile

That, or had just been caught with a very short transit time and was "recovering" from the shock.

Like the idea but couldn't admit to owning one. Stupid name.

"So, what do you drive?"
"Erm, a Gu... Gu... a Ford Focus."

I sort of like it, the only thing that spoils it for me is the scoop on the roof. Oh and being about £189k short of the asking price.

If you want to go halfers on it, I'll put in the £189, if you pay the other £189,811.

I'll let you have it 4 days out of 7 given you are paying the larger half.
