STOP PRESS NEW JAG XF PICTURE

Leaked picture of new Jaguar XF

PistonHeads has been leaked this picture of a production ready Jaguar XF - months ahead of its official launch.

The picture shows that the car isn't as aggressive as the concept on which it's based. Still, it looks pretty meaty.

Details are sketchy but we know that there will be a standard V8 with 300bhp (ish), a 420bhp supercharged V8 and an 'XF-R' version with a 500bhp version of the supercharged V8 engine. Though, expect a diesel in the mix, too.

Enjoy, before Jag tell us off.

UPDATE- Picture removed at the request of Jaguar Cars. Embargoed until 28/08.

Apologies- Garlick

Yes, seems we were all too late!

I'll have a look about to see whether anyone else has it.

Oooh Bling wheels!

I look forward to seeing them in the car park!

Actually, looking at that, it's a shame they've rounded off the nose, it looks very American now, and that's not a particularly good thing IMO

Indeed. A Volvo / Mondeo cross breed. Mind you, I didn't like the new XK until I saw a few on the road so perhaps it's a grower.

The nose looks strange, as if someone's fitted VW units upside-down. Equally, the contrast looks a bit odd in that area, so I'm hoping its a photo shop and the real one keeps the nose from the concept.

Admitadly there's not much chance of me being right, but we live in hope.

Why can't Jag just build the concept car instead?! And what's wrong with the headlights?

It's crazy, but I agree.

The rear window and sill treatment on the Jag is way too fussy

The front end looks rather poor to me, in contrast with the concept version.

I also think the Mondeo looks the better of the two.

Where is the style and the flair?
Where are the feline lines and the swooping curves?
Why does it look like a GS lexus thing.

This can't be Jaguars answer to the mid range saloon can it?

why is it that car companies never make the "real thing" look like the concept? What exactly is the point of going to the effort of designing a stunning concept, creating loads of interest, then stepping back and saying "hmmm... now how can we make that a bit more bland, a lot less interesting, a lot more... ordinary?"
