M15 To Get Volvo V8?
With twin turbos of course
Being huge fans of Lee Noble’s creations here at PH, we were intrigued by news which has filtered through from Noble’s Italian importer, UK Garage.
According to them, the production version of the long-awaited M15 will feature a powerplant from a fairly unlikely source: the Volvo XC90.
Thanks to a healthy input of cash from a private investor, the larger than anticipated engine will be far from standard in this new application and, like the V6 Mondeo engine before it, will gain a couple of turbochargers to boost power to around 650bhp.
Tipping the scales at around 1,100kg, the M15 is 30% stiffer than the M12 and has better weight distribution despite the larger engine.
Performance wise, 0-60mph should be despatched in around 3.0 seconds, while UK Garage is estimating that they will market the car at around €150,000. That’s around £104,000 of our English pounds.
its the same delusions of grandeur that sank TVR....
"i know lets stop building popular, grunty, affordable sportscars and start building supercars. But without the badge. Or the international presence. Or the fit and finish. Everyone will want one!"
For a Noble.
Bonkers.

The same cash could have you sitting in something with a bit more passion?
Maybe im being harsh, its a very good looking car, the performance credentials are there and ive heard fit and finish is pretty good?

The Noble is a great car. With 300 brake it's about as fast as it gets. You can slay most porkers and Ferrari's with it. Dropping a 200 brake Type R or Duratech won't make much difference in pricetag me thinks . . .
I'm thinking AWD . . . Is that wrong?

Thats like saying when buying a koenigsegg "powered by ford" , its may have the volvo unit but most likely only the block remains the same. BTW i dont own a noble

Totally different to the Jag/LR inline V8's.
If you mean that the Jags and Land Rovers are mounted longitudinally and the Volvo transversely (because the latter maker's cars are built for FWD first, then had AWD added) then this makes more sense, although the Volvo Yahama motor is being mounted longitudinally in the M15 I assume (as this car showed the V6 being mounted that way round).
It is meant to be a peach by the way.

ka20b or ls6 not a huge difference in cost but one weighs more and one gives you way more oomph...
theat 'volvo' v8 sounds like a decent motor..quite glad it's found a decent home at last...(how cool would that motor be in a VXeligopa?!).
