New Porsche Website Fights C-Charge Rise

German firm creates website dedicated to its fight against new £25 charge

Porsche has shown how serious it is about battling the new £25 Congestion Charge by setting up a website dedicated to its threat of legal action.

The firm argues that it is ‘yet another tax on London and the motorist’ and is a disproportionate rise.

Not only will the charge hit drivers of sports cars, such as Porsches, it will impact on families who use people carriers, the company says.

Porsche claims the hike will not make any meaningful difference to the environment and the CO2 saved in a whole year is the equivalent, at most, to just a few hours of emissions from Heathrow Airport.

The site www.porschejudicialreview.co.uk has been set up to explain more about the carmaker’s case.

It also gives drivers the chance to add their names to an online petition that will be presented to London mayor Ken Livingstone.

Website content is a bit repetitive.... but I don't care about that so much as I care about disproportionate tax levies and, the motorist getting targeted when business have yet to make any relevant grade let alone the basic one modern cars already have

Of course, it could just be a magnificent ploy to get lots of people's addresses for the mother of all Porsche related mail shots!!

In seriousness, i'm relieved someone with sufficient money and power (Porsche) have decided to make a stand. I go to London perhaps once per year, so wouldn't really impact on me, but i'm not naive enough to thing such a charge will remain confined to London

I have also emailed Daimler Chrysler UK asking for their stance, and urging them to follow Porsches suit. Whether they will or not is another matter!
