I was about to smash into the back of a car today...
Discussion
I once got overtaken on the M6 toll by a woman in a CRV on her phone, doing about 100mph with her kids in the back. She also had a sign with something like 'Back Off! Kids on board!' written on it hanging in the back window.
I suspect the least of those childrens' problems were the cars behind.

This has come up many times on here, I think the point of most of these is not "I have a baby on board so don't crash into me" but "I have a baby on board and I might get distracted if it cries out (or two kids arguing) so don't get too close in case I suddenly brake or forget to brake or don't indicate or swerve unexpectedly". So give them some room or overtake them, you don't want to get caught up in someone else's accident.

Ah, but at least she was using the Baby On Board sign in the manner in which it is intended.I suspect the least of those childrens' problems were the cars behind.
They are supposed to be to alert emergency services that a small person may be inside a wreck, so in some perverse way she was being a responsible parent.

Very very useful signs those, the amount of times they've dissuaded me from smashing into the back cars are simply too numerous to count.

Too right, Bruce...
I spotted one, just in time...
So I crashed into the car to its left....
Close run thing that. I killed the other driver but she was an old dear and I'm sure she wasn't safe on the roads...
Good result all round, I think..

Ahhh and there was me thinking that the woman in a Mercedes ML (with 2 kids in the back) who tried to drive into the side of me on the A540 was just ignoring the lane controls (bleedin great big arrows on the tarmac)......wonder what the excuse for then following me 2 feet behind with her hand on the horn was
.......soon stoped when I stopped, got out of the car and went to have a quiet word
