Just seen my dream car

Popping to ye local shoppe (Waitrose) for the paper, and I heard a lovely rumble coming from the car park, and around the corner comes my ultimate dream car, which I've just loved for so many years

I remember seeing Quentin Wilson raving on about them, years ago on Top Gear, seen a few on the roads and I'm pretty sure i've seen one on a drive, but under a tarpaulin, near me.

Only 2,500 were ever made!

I've seen a few at various classic car shows - the most of which were about 4 years ago at a show at Newbie Gill up in Yorkshire (it was also an MG annual event IIRC). There were 3 on show then.

I've only ever seen 1 on the road before today, and now this makes 2

Are they the ones with an oak chassis and aluminium body?

Fibreglass body with 2.5 V8. Very scary handling at higher speeds.

I like the idea of a small capacity V8, esp. in a small lightweight car. Have seen one of these out on the road, but because I was on the bike, I had earplugs in, so couldn't hear the engine note...

lovely looking car, only view i dont like is direct from the front. the wheels seem to stick out the arches about 1" to far to me. your right about the noise though, they sound great.

Had to pop back up to ye waitrose and spotted a PGO! Not really my cuppa to be honest.

I think the best car I have ever seen in a supermarket car park was a Facel Vega II in the Sainsburys at Fosee Park.

My mate was offered a Daimler Dart last year...all the parts had been restored and the entire car was ready to be put back together, needless to say in show condition when finished!

It was decided that it would've been too much work at the time...shame though

Funnily enough, and each to their own, I really dislike the looks of the Dart.
Nice engine though, at least in concept... I can't testify to it's quality.

I remember the days when one had to keep an eye on the rear-view mirror, as PC Plod used to have a few Darts with nice-shiny-bells on the front. Lovely motors though!

WTF is that PGO?

frenck speedster 'replica' with a mid mounted 2.0 136 bhp peugeot 4cyl (like the boggo 307 for example).

probably a lot better in reality..but i'd rather have a tygan.

still i like the fact that pgo tried to evolve the idea.

looks really compact in reality..looked great in central paris at christmas when i saw one!

I actually like the looks of the PGO although it could do with a bigger lump....like a 2.7 Porsche 944 engine

There was one by my grandmothers house for quite a time under a tarp, gathering dust, but was eventually moved and I presume went ot a good home! I like pretty much everything about it except that front end, which is a bit ugly!
