Just heard Steve Hislop was tragically killed in a helicopter crash in the Borders today.

What a loss.

What a shame - British Champion last season on a MonsterMob Ducati then immediately losing his ride at MonsterMob and then the same thing at Virgin Yamaha a couple of weeks ago - very unfortunate. Great competitor - condolences to his family, friends and supporters. Nick

Oh God, that's terrible. I had become quite a fan of Hislop over the years as I got more into bike racing - in 2001 he was truly awsome. Always seemed such a decent bloke, too.

All that acheivement in such a dangerous sport - especially when you consider his TT triumphs - and dies like that. Just not fair, is it? I can't really believe it.

This is not a good year for bike racing.

god, this is shocking, i heard the news on RI:SE this morning and i literally had my mouth wide open in shock for about 1 minute, tragic loss of a huge huge huge talent. Condolonces to his fammily and friends.

This is truly sad news.

I've been lucky enough to have spent a number of races in the paddock at the BSB series and spoke to Steve on a number of occasions - A top bloke who will be sadly missed.
