Just passed mine a few weeks ago (first time 4 minors)

The best thing you can do is not take any risks, remember the mirrors, if you do something wrong try not to draw attention to it and put it right again as quickly as possible whilst still remaining 'safe' and best of all don't let the little things get to you. Nothing worse than worrying because you forgot to check your mirror when you came out of the test centre or something like that... common sense stuff really.

yup. do everything slowly and deliberately. make sure you are seen to be looking in mirrors, move your head/body. dont get put off if you make a mistake, it can be ok if you do and recover.

they basically want to see that you are safe and competent. thats about it. so dont take any chances or risks.

Just stay calm. The reason I failed was because I got so nervous that I tried too hard and ended up making mistakes. Remember one thing though - just because you've passed doesn't mean you're an amazing driver (not meant to sound offensive). Take it easy and gain some driving experience as that is what will make you a safe driver. I know people who have passed first time with little/no minors but they're too confident and take stupid risks which has in some cases ended up in them crashing.
I'm sure you'll be a great driver once you pass though.

Passed mine 2nd time round, even though I clipped the curb pulling out of a junction. Didn't let it worry me though and just carried on. So no matter what you do (short of crashing) you may still have passed.

Only joking, on my test my first manouver as soon as I'd driven out of the test centre was a 3 point turn which I messed up and did in 5 so I thought I'd failed, after that I just relaxed and I ended up passing with only 3 minor faults.

As has been said, relax and try to enjoy it.

Unlucky mate.

The trick is to just do everything slowly, and relax.

Not to make you feel bad or anything, but I passed mine with no minors on Thursday, first time.
