Those porka's really are rapid, would like to see a 996 GT2 against a Z06 though as I reckon that would be pretty close. Bring on the ZR-1

Agreed, it just monsters the Z-06 - made me laugh on the drag runs when he said he'd wait till he saw the Z06 move before he dropped the clutch!

Not at all, although they usually get pretty good traction out of 911s the bit I liked the best was once they got shifting and the GT2 just started to drive away

you mean the 996 gt2 that gets from 0-180 in somthing like 17 seconds?

im guessing the pork would muller it

I can't say I've had the pleasure of going in a Z06, however I've done 0-190+ in a 996 GT2 (thanks Jon ) and yes it's very, VERY quick, but I'd still like to see it, as it's a much fairer comparison than the Z06 vs 997 GT2 IMO.

0 - 180 in 17 secs?



At Fighting Torque last year, the winning Noble (600+bhp!) only managed 0 - 173 in 23.5 secs...

The leading Porsche (a 600+bhp(!) 997 Turbo - 3rd as it happened) only did 0 - 170 in 24 secs...

If those figures are correct, then it is a rapid car indeed...

That 9ff GT9 apparently does 0-300 km/h (~186 mph) in 17.6s. Thats pushing close to 1000bhp, I suspect someone has their GT2 claims a bit mixed up

Their own Press Pack in this vid... shows the new one does 0 - 186 in 33 secs.

not usually a big 911 fan, but yes, very beastly indeed!

that 'Vettes a right brute too tho', can't argue at the pace or the soundtrack (oh yess, hard to beat a well stoked big 8!) of that Z06, but the Porker walked it
unbelievable straightline speed and i think it'd be a good bet that the GT2 would probably run roughshod over a 'Vette on a good twisty road too
be interesting to see how the forthcoming V10 Audi R8 will fare though....

looking forward to the EVO test now too
