So where are the best pies to be had?

I'll happily "name and shame" Don Palfrey as THE BEST EVER GAME PIE MAKER in the south of England. Was on a trip to Purbeck over Friday night and took in Corfe Castle and a game pie on the way home. Just cooked it with new tatties, red cabbage, runner beans and some Bistro gravy and a slurp of Hay Station Ranch Merlot.....

Got some of his sausages for breakfast too!

Well I'm so torn...

..on the one hand virtual pies...

Then again, it sort of goes against the spirit of jumping in your high powered sports car and hunting down those essential inredients............Optimax and pies.....

Actually I don't fancy the *"Stake & Ale" I might get a splinter

From the prices board.

*And for those members who can't spell, it should be "Steak & Ale"

I hate the synthetic rubish you buy off the shelf in shops, pastry is .

Last time I had a good pie was in Cornwall in a tiny bakery full of farmers. The real deal!
