MOT / Windscreen chip clarification
Discussion
This happened on the way to the PH meet on Monday, flicked off the back of a bike I think on the '62. Just my luck with the MOT up this month.

Outside. Distance shown about 13mm.

Inside. ( The hole has not come 'through' the glass mind )

Relative position shown by the red dot. Its just to the right of the centreline, and is just within the sweep of the drivers side wiper.
The rules I've found are a little vague - is this a fail or not?
Is it fixable? Will it mean a new windscreen? All my documents are at home (I'm at Uni) so I'm unsure of the policy details as of yet, but I think I have the usual windscreen cover.

Incidently... my 306 has a similar crack, but it's on the passenger side. I called up my insurance, and they made an appointment at RAC autowindscreens for a repair.
The technician said it was the worst crack he's ever repaired. However, it was repairable. I think it needs to be less than the size of a pound coin. If it's repairable, then it's free on comprehensive.
However, if it's unrepairable and your insurance has glass cover, then you just have to pay your excess for glass. It's usually about £50-70.
The process takes about 20 minutes, and you can usually bit fitted in within a couple of days.
If you don't get it fixed... then I believe by the placement of it, that your car would fail it's MOT.
