not knowing german i always thought it was "Hartj". but i am now very certain it's "heart-guh"!
Knowing quite a bit of German, I'd say Heart-ger is close enough. All the letters are pronounced in proper German
language.
So Porsche is Por-sher, BMW is Bee-Emm-Vay etc

Whilst we're on the subject, is 'Octavia' pronounced ock-tar-vee-ya or is it ock-tay-vee-ya?
Whilst we're on the subject of how to pronounce Hartge, how do you pronounce the name of a different car from a different manufacturer?

Aye, tis indeed 'Hart-Guh'. I found this out one day, having had enough of not knowing, by going to the Hart - G
stand at a BMW show no less, where upon I asked the assistant how it was pronounced.
"Ahem, excuse me..... how do you pronounce..?" I said. She told me it was Heart 'G'
I believed her. It turned out that she was one of Herr HartG's daughters
.
This is of course dependent on my hearing correctly at the time......
