After a six-month nap in the BBC garage, the irrepressible car jamboree returns for a new series. Preview DVDs were unavailable, but we're promised thrills of the "longer, stronger, faster and better" variety. Tonight, the trio set out to buy a "bargain-priced police cruiser," Jeremy Clarkson roars around in a Ferrari 430 Scuderia and the Reasonably Priced Car will play host to not one but two sets of celebrity buttocks, as Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr prepare to take to the racetrack. What's more, it seems there's a mysterious new member of the team, who, according to executive producer Andy Wilman, is "a bit like the Stig, but not like the Stig". Hold tight."
I will have to turn over for a bit when Alan Carr is on.Highlight

Can I be the first to say that it was rubbish, not enough cars, too much time spent 'messing around' etc. And why didn't they do a piece showing me how to change the cambelt on a 1983 Fiat Panda?
Now we've got that over with can we not have any whining - TG is three middle aged blokes pissing about and the best show on tv bar none if you don't like it don't watch it.

I echo most of those sentiments. However, after a beer and a glass of wine it always seems good fun.Dumbed down TV for a dumbed down audience I'm afraid.
