I can't be the only one who's Mrs refuses to fill her car up? She doesn't mind paying but just wants me to actually go to the petrol station and fill it. Anyone else in this boat?

PS - I'm not moaning, I just wondered how many others do the same.

I usually always fill it (when I'm home and not working abroad) and usually just pay as well.

Who cares? Not my/her money, we're married, so it's all as one.

My wife can fill it up, and she can pay. She has done it, under sufference when I was out of the country.

99 times out of 100 I'll take it to the shops and fill it up whether it needs it or not. I usually never mention I've done it, so I assume she thinks her car is very ecconomical with a magic tank.

I fill but pay on her company card. Chip & pin is very useful.

Why peculiar? The fuel comes from the joint account, so it doesn't matter which of the cars she's driving - hers, mine or the wekend car. It's all the same.

If I jump in one and it needs fuel, I just fuel it.

Er No. It's her money. What's yours is hers and what's hers is too.

Joint accounts ? Got one, the biggest cause of stress ever. 18 years of it.

Every time I use "her" car, I take it to the garage and fill the tank.

It all comes out of the same pot, but it seems a nice thing to do...

Little things like that help oil the wheels of a healthy relationship - 24 years and still going.

Yes, sorry smile

We both work, we both earn, we both pay for what we use!

Obviously different if one works and the other is housewife/husband etc.

I find doing what I'm told before she thinks of it works well too.

I picked 'she fills, she pays' but soemtimes I'll do it out of courtesy or to save time. Either way its not a very common thing.

I can honestly say, not in my marriage. I guess I'm lucky.

We both put money every month into the joint account from our own pay, and the stuff thats left is our pocket money, so to speak, that just goes on whatever.

I really couldn't get excited over who burns what fuel in what car and who paid for it. Life's too (stand fast Yellowbadge!!) short.
