anyone ever owned a 306 cabriolet?
Discussion
I had one back in 1995, from what i remember the front seat did not support your legs and for long distance driving it was painful. Also it leaked on the front roof seal and the first time i switched on the windscreen wiper it flew off. However, it wasn't all bad, girls liked it and with the roof down it was nice enough, but not enough to keep it more than 12 months.
Also don't look at the fifth gear roll over test....

As the title says really. Thinking of buying one. Yes i'm a hairdresser and yes i'm gay before the flaming starts......
Old Peugeot can equal big bills. I used to own a 405 Mi16, which ended up costing nearly as much in repairs than it did to buy.If you get one, get it AA inspected first would be my advice.
I remember when these came out the cover of Autocar declared them to be "Sexier Than a Sack Full of E-Types".
I was fuming at the time as, whilst the 306 was a good looking car, the E-Type was/is a legend.
The 306 still looks good, but I think the E-Type has stood the test of time a bit better; )

We had one for about 2 years but sold it on about 4 years ago (Phase 2 round fog lights)
When we bought it had a major leak along the junction of the roof / windscreen, which is a common problem but we got the main window seal replaced on warranty (through Peugeot).
Apart from that we had no problems with it at all

Thats the worst crash test anyone could hope to make. Surprise, unsecured people have bad things happen to them. As for the front seat, correctly secured passengers ... well, lets not actually have a proper look at what injuries they could have suffered and just say they would have died without even having turned the car back over to see the damage.Anyway, more on topic. Family has one of the last (51 reg) 306 cabriolets. It had an electrical fault immediately when we got it (adjusted steering column rake, cue smoke from under dash), this was rectified and aside from a weeping rear main seal its not had any faults to date.

Oh well... I am pretty sure a Triumph Spitfire or any other classic would use it's driver as the crumple zone in a crash at anything over four miles per hour. And it would not put me off getting one. Not even slightly.
