Just heard that Performance Tuner Magazine is closing . Part of CH Publishing it was only selling 5,000 on its last issue . i think they are putting out one more next month.
Another nail in print media wonder how all the electronic magazines are doing like Driversrepublic and Roadmagazine in this hard economic time .
RIP
PT.

Wasn't that the lot that tried to be like Practical Performance Magazine in terms of masthead style etc.

I quite enjoyed performance tuner... It was quite a broad church, and would have appealed to many a Pher I reckon... e.g: they ran an article on performance cars up to £15k... lots of diversity in there...

im not overly surprised by PT going under, it was crap. the articles were poorly written and researched. most of it seemed to just be reworded articles by other people.

I'd never heard of it, pity, I'd have liked a read.

Can't be any worse than PPC, thats really getting bad now. Every time I read it I feel like I should have a rotting old fridge in the front of the house, grass you could hide 4 Royal Tank Regiment in, familiarity with the price of Aldi own brand strong lager and definate 'loiking fer dawgs' if you get my drift.

Do you not find it's getting more and more to be pages full of adverts? Take those out, and half the mag is gone!

Oh god, there were strains of that when I gave up about 18mths ago...I got fed up with the technical inaccuracies and the constant bodging of what COULD have been a really good project, just to prove you can do it on a shoestring (then 3 months later watch it blow up spectacularly for want of doing a 'proper job' in the first place...).

Hit it on the head i think it was just crap.biggrin
just another low rent car magazine that has been passed down the toilet of life, i think many will go the same way in the next few months.
It looked like most if not all the staff on there were just children, or they acted like it i feel.

If only to allow other mags on the rack some extra room to sit. Really when you think of it, its amazing how long a magazine can hold on without selling. Countless rags from all over the world live in the death throws for years. sometimes it has nothing more to do than the fact that some exec/publisher simply says I like it.

Quite agree, with the exception of Dave Walkers column and Charlie Broomfield's exploits it's turned to utter crud.

End of the day though, the market can only support so many car mags, especially when they're all over four quid a copy!
