Carry on.

absolutely you can, if its a metalic/pearl you can have a matting agent added to the clearcoat or into the colour if its a solid you're after. Any reasonable trade paint supplier can do this . They should also be able to do it to varying degrees of matt finish .its peasy to spray the only thing to be carefull of, is over wetting the paint or using too fast a thinner but the supplier ought to be able to advise based on manufacturers recomendations

Sorry, but this whole matt / satin thing is a great idea that has gone too far now. The novelty is lost, and that Lotus doesn't look nice IMO.

Thankfully most of these cars have been wrapped and nt painted, but matt black is as uncool as citine yellow became in the 90's and reiger wide arch kits.

The matt thing looked cool on some exotics, but is now more common and on less special cars. Done.

Matt white? Maybe that has some age left, but not much ... Hope the gloss white trend sticks for a little while longer as I'd love my next car to be white.

I'd have to disagree, I think that Lotus looks great in matt.

... which would be relevant, if the OP was asking whether you wanted satin paint on your car. smile

White was in fashion 4 years ago (darling), when even Top Gear did a magazine piece on cars that look cool in white. Its all about straw yellow now honey.

Wizzbilly, you can either take colour tips from the obvious fashion expert above, or you could go to House of Kolor's UK site and buy some flattening agent, which works on most of their standard colours:

Alternatively, look into agricultural vehicle paint, it often comes in flat colours and is very long lasting.

thanks for that , i am after a profeshniol finish not something that looks like it was done because it was cheap lol .

black looks ok but seams everyone has it , was thinking a dark grey but easy enough to sparay , i pick stuff up quick and have done spraying furniture for few years on and off , so the basics should be there .

i do like white but to be honest its not what i wont on this project .

was thinking anlong the lines of real dark grey or blues etc

have looked at some marine paints and some stuff called rustlolim but there choice of matt finshs are not very good there only a few .

Simple answer is yes you can get Matt and Satin Lacquer & paint. Most places will have to order it in, unless your just after matt / satin grey or black.
