Toyo proxes 4

Does anybody know from experience if proxes 4 are any good, I'm running on Toyo T1-R rubber at the moment and my local performance supplier can only get these at the present time.

any thoughts other than other rubber?

Local shop says that t1-r has been replaced by this. I'm not so sure?

I don't think the T1-R has been replaced by Proxes 4. The Proxes 4 is aimed at posers from what I can see on their site, but I think the T1-R looks better anyway.

Yeah that's the impression I get too.

I'm trying to find a set of 195/50x15 T1-Rs to be fitted this weekend but can't find anything. argh!

You might struggle seeing as it's 2:30pm on Saturday afternoon.

Any decent Toyo stockists will be able to get them in for next weekend though, assuming it's a size that Toyo do.

That's what everyone says. But my MOT man is going on holidays on Friday so if I don't have it done by the weekend I can't take advantage of the 10-day return re-exam

The proxes 4 is an entry level tyre from Toyo and is not a replacement for the T1-R.

As far as I am aware there are no shortages of the T1-R, we have plenty on the shelf.

I'm in inner-london so T1-R are not really the local store's prime product!

get them sent from camskill or micheldever. you'll save about a ton too.

I don't have time for that. Still need someone to fit them and it'd be half a day off work chasing that up, waiting at home for delivery blokes that don't come on time ,etc etc

etyres or blackcircles then. you get them delivered to a fitter near you and pop along when you're available.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s are virtually identical and easier to find if it's any help. No significant difference in price either....

+1 micheldever always have 'em in stock, if you fancied a drive out you could always go there yourself.

Which would have been the way I went if they'd made them in the size I needed. The PX-4s are alright but I wast told they replaced the T1-R/Ss (can't remember which) but if I was to make the decision again I wouldn't have purchased them. Its not as though they're a particularly bad tyre, they just don't inspire the confidence I'd like especially in the wet but then I've never been that impressed by the Toyo range over the years so I'd recommend you spend a bit extra and get something decent.
