Set the first one to record, then before the recording commences find it in your planner and press the green button to turn on series link.

As said.

Find it on Sunday and press record. Go into your planner - to do this enter 'TV Guide' and I think its the green button. Scroll down to Top Gear on your recordings, when hovered over it press the green button and it'll series link it for you.
