Nissan 370Z - New Pics

New Z in real life shocker

After months of spy shots, leaked images from computer games and renderings, we had been looking forward to seeing the official shots of the Nissan 370Z. Sadly, for some reason when they appeared they looked like computer-rendered spy shots from a video game.

The official images seemed so heavily touched-up that it was hard to see what it would look like in real life. Luckily three new images have now surfaced that show an official press shot of a yellow Z and a silver car at a recent Nissan event.

In these pictures the car looks less gawky and although it has an undoubtably stubby tail, it appears far better proportioned. In fact, it looks like far more of an evolution from the 350Z – the car which it replaces.

The 370Z, named after its 3.7 litre V6 engine, is Nissan’s first ground-up redesign of the 350Z. The latest Z shares its powerplant with Nissan’s Infiniti G37. This engine makes 316bhp in the Infiniti coupe, but previous media speculation has indicated the Z-car might do a little better – perhaps with up to 330bhp.

And it's still using a Renault engine. Just goes to show how good it was 14years ago!

Definitely looks more 240/260Z-esque from these photos.

I like it, would probably buy that over a 350Z as well, has a much sleeker shape to it.

The wheels don't look wide enough for it. Looks like the archs stick out too much, easily fixed with an upgrade i guess.

"it has an undoubtably stubby tale"

Is that some form of nursery rhyme?

I think the design works well....

A bit of a mix in themes.....being 350Z, GT-R & BMW Z4M Coupe.

I'd seriously consider this as my next daily driver........when is it due to launch in the UK?

Don't like the lights...

And why do the wing mirrors have to be so big? It's like looking at two orbiting moons.

I had made the mistake of assuming it was a french engine too mate, turns out the Vel-Stratis used 'borrowed' the engine from nissan, not the other way around yes

I think it looks quite nice, but.........

Yes......and a shorter wheelbase, emphasising a more squat look!

Wasn't a massive fan of the first generation. This one is vulgar/ugly!

Controvesial I know, but it just looks like the stylists have been trying to hard!
