KTM x bow thingy
The X-Bow is different in that it's made by KTM.The Alfa Ducati Corse is clever marketing.
Alfa are targetting Ducati owners - who generally have a relatively decent level of disposable income and will buy anything associated with the brand. (Yes, I own one and I'm as bad as any other Ducati owner out there).
Making a special Ducati Corse edition car will attract Ducati riders to the marque - even if they don't buy the 147, they'll have been into the showroom on the strength of the Ducati Corse edition.
There are enough synergies between the brands for it to work (sorry, spending too much time in corporate meetings....) - but many brands couldn't get away with it.
Ducati have also got some more product placement with the New Desmodeci.

Erm
what about Honda they make bikes and cars
or Suzuki they make bikes and cars
so is a Honda or a Suzuki a car with a bike badge
or is it a bike with a car badge
The same is true for BMW too
The Honda logo and thus 'badge' is different for bikes...what about Honda they make bikes and cars
or Suzuki they make bikes and cars
so is a Honda or a Suzuki a car with a bike badge
or is it a bike with a car badge
The same is true for BMW too
It is like a wing for the bikes and a 'h' for the cars...

I think what My dear other half (celticpilgrim) is getting at, is what do people think of the 147 Ducati, we are in the process of thinking of buying one.
I had a look at them with a view to buying, but they only come with a manual box and I find Alfa clutches too heavy for everyday use. (which is why I now have a 156 Selespeed). They look really good and are well specced, nice powerful diesel engine and the Q2 diff., so handle really well, too.
However, make sure you get a really strong deal on it, as the 147 replacement isn't too far away, plus some potential 147 buyers will be swayed by the MiTo. Residuals could potentially be horrendous.
