Video: BMW Performance Parts

New full length teaser video includes possibly the world's coolest steering wheel...

A new video has been released for the BMW Performance Parts 2009 range. The add-ons are available for the 3 Series and 1 Series at the moment and include everything from carbon fibre door mirrors to suspension kits. Arguably the coolest accessory is the new BMW Performance steering wheel which incorporates a digital read-out for information like oil temperature and a stop watch. See what you think...

Had a look at the catalogue in the dealers last week, lots of interesting carbon bits and all warranty covered, price list absence in the catalogue suggested it wasn’t going to be a bargain though.

yeh those performance brakes won't offer any upgrade at all from the standard ones i guess. those more bucket seats won't hold you in any better than the standard ones at all, allowing you to feel better going round corners fast. you're just right i guess.

Were they automatics in the audio, but manuals in the video?

Anyway, nice idea, but as always BMW's problem for me is the second hand market. Finding the right spec 330Ci is hard enough, so with yet MORE options to get right on a 1 series Coupe in the future... eek!

I'd prefer BMW to TELL us what we want, and just make a Tii 1 series as they had teased everyone with, rather than a load of expensive options that complicate things further.

parts can be retro fitted so can always change the spec if you don’t find the perfect one, expecting further range of bits for their older cars too I believe. Might be interested if a z4 carbon induction kit if they made one.

That's all very nice but have you seen the price of those things? It's steep to put it mildly - you can take a 1-series into M3 terretory without too much bother!

Most of those parts should be sold under the BMW Bling Bling Parts label...

Wicked!

Spend the money that you could have spent on a car that goes quick on bits that make your car look as though it's quick...

Genius.

Halfords must be bricking it.

So these performance parts make the car look faster but add no performance, as such.
So they're not really performance parts, are they?

Carbon intake (ala M3 csl) might make a little difference, though....

With car prices so low at the moment, surely you'd just buy a faster car in the first place?

They're 135i brakes - calipers painted a different colour though smile
They are an upgrade for the rest of the range.
