Another budget thread - sorry (Fuel Duty)

Sorry folks was just fking fuming when reading the pre budget report website.

The sneaky fkers are actually putting fuel duty up by 4p between now and April next year.

Lost for words, nice to see they're not taking us for a ride just because petrol is dropping for the first time in years.

i read that earlier too today

it's because the fking badger thinks that the fuel has come down a lot in the last 6 months - and now he's not making enough money off us in the duty and the VAT

it's only come down because the demand has dropped - stupid tt

The reduction in VAT is not going to help at all because it doesnt affect the essentials. And the fuel rise and alcohol and tobacco rise is going to have the complete opposite effect and increase expenses for the majority!!

I've just done some calculations, which are probably wrong but 4p on a litre, doing 12,000 miles at an average 35mpg means you'll be £62 worse off over the year.

Sneaky move, they put the fuel duty up as they always wanted and when the VAT goes back to 17.5% have said the duty increase will remain. Thanks chaps

My biggest weekly costs are food and fuel so how, exactly, will I have more money in my pocket to spend at the Pound Shop?
