Fuel tax increase

Why are the press just ignoring the fact that tax on fuel is going up 2p per litre from the 1st dec???? are the british public really this stupid?

the grip isn't with the rise, its the fact the press are not reporting it, its not on the bbc news website at all, or sky news

I had a good look and couldn't see it, its not in the key points etc I had to download the whole report as pdf to find it.

Previous fuel tax increases have been there main headline, yet this massive one had gone un-reported. What deal has the Gov done with the news agencies I wonder

But if you go into the various budget stories, the fuel tax rise isn't mentioned. This is the whole of the section on fuel and road tax duty.

With no detail, eg 2p now and 2p later.

My point is, this would have been top story, go mental news at any other time, yet all the news agencies have chosen not to make any sort of a fuss about it, why??? its very very odd

I know it was, otherwise I wouldn't know, my point, which seems to be completely wasted / ignored is the fact the press isn't going mental over it, a 1p increase (or decrease) a few weeks ago would have been front page news, yet now the headline is vat decrease and hidden away (with no detail) is tax on fuel will increase to cover, no detail about 2p now and 2p in a few months and ignoring the fact the vat decrease is temp but the fuel icrease is perminant.

So I guess the spin doctors have won, and the UK public really is this stupid.
