Micra Tyres

Hi All
Mrs bdly drives a 04 plate nissan micra!! its due new tyres and i am being told they are the only car with this size tyres 175/60 15. I have been quoted around the 300 mark for 4 fitted which i think is a bit steep.
my first question is: can i put diffrent size tyres on, if so what size can i get away with without it affecting the speedo too much. 2nd question is: is it worth it to change the wheels and tyres?

Just done a bit of searching on eTyres and nothing around that size, in a decent brand, is a lot cheaper.

When I had my Cinq. Sporting, it came on 55 profiles from the factory, which were unique to the car - so I went up to 60 profile on the same width tyre. Made such a small difference to the speedo that it didn't matter.

If you went up to a 65 profile, costs would be about 40 quid cheaper for a full set.

Given that they're a 15" wheel, 300 quid sounds reasonable for a full set of decent brand tyres.

Friend of mine had the same problem recently, bought tyres from Camskill tyres online, free postage you just pay someone to fit and balance, they can do four Kumhos for under £180 delivered.

still not sure...cheepest here is about 250 and i can get a set of alloys with tyres from flee bay for 300 but they are diffrent size tyres??
