Britains Worst Driver - Prosecutions?
Discussion
I know we've discussed this one in a fair bit of detail, but maybe some of our resident BiB could answer a question for me?
I caught a few minutes of a repeat on Sky last night, in the time I was watching I saw enough parking collisions etc to argue driving without due care.
I also saw a guy driving with his knees, while speeding (50 in a 30), undertaking in a bus lane and simultaneously using his mobile phone and gesturing with the other hand...
There is (and please correct me if im wrong) plenty of precedent for prosecuting people based on video evidence.
Can someone tell me why most of these IDIOTS havent been prosecuted and banned?
Or even better tell me they have and stop my blood from hitting boiling point....

I would guess that the film makers have spoken to the police and arranged that the video cannot be used as evidence... I don't see why not, they should have their licences revoked!
There are lots of these sort of programs, and it really bugs me (especially Britains Worst Driver) that they are "celebrated" (Maureen anyone?) for that particular lack of skill!

Arranged that they cant be used as evidence? Is this possible? (let alone desireable).
Ive never seen anyone commiting as many motoring offences at the SAME TIME as the moron on that program the other night...
Im no angel, but he was so far from acceptable standards he couldnt even see them with a telescope....

I dont see whatb the problem is. The only form of dangerous driving is fast driving. Surely everyone knows this???
I mean, thats what the Government says...
I often wondered that. The same with these programs that show prostitutes etc, how can it possibly be moral to show something illegal without something being done about it?

1) Don't believe everything you see on the television
2) They (or at least the keeper) have to have been given a NIP within 14 days.
Within 14 days of what though? The date of the offence?
So hypothetically I could film myself performing all manner of illegal acts on the road and be immune from prosecution when showing everyone footage of it beyond 14 days later?
That doesnt sound right Im afraid
(Doesnt mean it's NOT correct of course, simply doesnt sound it)

It's a journalists job to report on things dispassionately, at least in theory. If they went to the law every time they saw something illegal no-one would talk to them and they'd have no stories.

I was only talking about motoring offences. Your sexual predilictions should really be kept private.

O.K. then, why do you think scameraships have to send out a NIP within 14 days?

Wasn't there a chap in Japan who filmed himself doing 200mph in his Ferrari F40, then sold the video and was prosecuted on the basis of that.
yep, your 100% correct,it was on one of the police stop video's iirc.
the driving displayed by all the people on the program (with the exception of quinten,of course) was shite bordering psychotic and why they arent banned is beyond me.the driving by asif on the uxbridge road in southall was disgusting and should be easily enough to ban him for dangerous driving....even the woman who was evalueating his driving got out in fear of her life!
