Average speed cameras on the A127 extending from Southend to Basildon both ways is an absolute joke. They seem to have started 2 days ago, and people are just driving bunched up bumper to bumper staring at their speedo's in fear. This is total council/government control and its bloodie dangerous.

I replied on SP&L last night. Last night i drove both ways from Southend to just past Basildon and it's an absolute joke.
50mph.. Honestly, people are going to crash from mere boredom.
Average speed cameras (who has the front to call them 'Safety' ) is bad enough but 50???

When they put them on a road down here the prosecutions went from 1200 a month to 62, so you can't really call them cash machines.

All speed camera are cash machines - simply there to raise revenue. Figures obtained under the freedom of information act have shown they're having no impact (in some cases accidents are increasing) when installed. The incomes they generate for the 'camera partnerships' are staggering.

I'm not a fan.
