I got the number plate though but bet you the car was either stolen or something. We are going for a drive and will locate these twats and ensure they are never able to drive again by this I mean of course to bring the full force of the 'law' down on their hesds

Now I need to find out whether I should be doing this on insurance or funding it myself. I would dearly like some advice on what to do next please guys - I cannot think straight

If it's a stolen car or uninsured driver you need to pursue the matter through the MIB, the Motor Insurance Bureau based in Milton Keynes. I used them when my Mercedes was hit by a stolen Rover.

If it is the case that you need them your insurance company will pass the claim over to them.

Thats aweful. I would suggest go to the police station and report it and find if the car is stolen first. If not the police may be able to help - leaving the scene of an accident.

Was the impact at any speed ? Whiplash can take a couple of days to appear. Suggest to the police that you have a bit of a sore neck and a headache, it may be useful later.

I would also suggest that although you feel like killing the fkers that you leave any retribution for a while even if you do find them. When you do give em hell !

Problem is if I involve the theiv....sorry inusrance company then Judas and my no claims will be screwed and the Tuscan and Chim insurances are due in Nov and Jan respecively.

You won't lose your no claims if it's a stolen car that hit you and you claim through the MIB.

They are there to help you in these cases, they are paid money to operate by all the insurance companies in the UK (one reason why premiums are high) treat them like national insurance everyone pays it so when you need them use them.

I'm sorry to hear this and can sympathise fully with you.

I had a similar experience last weekend. Three lads in their early 20s driving an old Fiesta tried to take me out (and I'm not talking to the local wine bar!) on a one-way system. They must have been so incensed to see a girl in a Chim they gave chase and made repeated attempts to ram the side of my car. If they had succeeded the impact may have caused me to end up on the pavement where they were pedestrians and, god forbid, injured or even killed someone.

It was only because I held the corners better than they could and switched lanes at the last moment I managed to get away. I only caught part of the reg. number so didn't think it was worth going to the police.

I was very shaken afterwards. And what's more they could be local which means if they see me again...

At least you're ok though, and I'm sure once the car is repaired, it will look even better than it did before.

Sorry peeps, I have a similar story that I will tell when the dust settles.. (and not even Ted knows this one yet). But one of the *other* reasons I got a 4x4 was for similar reasons as I think cosmochick listed. Some people are lower than pondlife for deliberately trying to damage nice cars. Problem seems to have gone away since doubling my vehicle weight....!

In the light of day the damage doesn't seem as bad as we first thought - however it still may end up being very expensive. Depends on how much can be repaired and how much of the GRP will need replacing. If anyone with experience getting this kind of damage repaired would like to comment it would be appreciated. Local Max Muppet nearly took me out the other night - G plate, Silver CRX - kept leaving a gap in traffic (in central town) then absolutely nailing it up behind me and then hitting the brakes. He misjudged it once and nearly went straight into the back of me. I was NOT amused. I saw him again last night on the way to Tescos - this time i was behind him and he was doing the same thing. I followed him for about 5 miles and he didnt indicate one single time! I was tempted to 'have a word' when we both got to Tescos but i didnt want the aggro.

Seriously, I really love sport cars, but in today scum infested world it is quite impossible to survive behind the wheel of one of these cars. Shame.

A series of "incidents" have changed my point of view on the cars in everiday traffic.

As I stated in some other thread, all the problems (lane changing, indicating, right to pull in, distance, bmw drivers, lorries) have dissapeared. What a heaven !
