He was shot off the end of an aircraft carrier in a rocket-powered vehicle after revealing his secret.

A Top Gear spokesman said: "We never comment on speculation as to who or what The Stig is."

That is actually true because the other day I saw someone wearing a T-shirt with 'I am the Stig' written on it and it wasn't Paul McCarthey or Michelle Collins and it was in colour so it must be true so there must be more than one so I think we'll never really know the truth.

Personally I don't understand why the Daily Star (& now Telegraph) went to the trouble of revealing his identity. They've got a cheap headline, but I suspect for many people they've now ruined one of the really fun aspects of Top Gear.

Why don't they just leave it alone? It provided a lot of fun and caused no harm to anyone. The newspapers are realy stty sometimes.

The papers are all fooked thanks to a downturn in advertising revenue. Sadly all the 'broadsheets' are suddenly chasing the money (readership) via tabloid-esque stories.
