Things not to say when selling your car...
Discussion
If your selling your car first rule is ALWAYS think about what our going to write and how your going to write the advert!
Insurance Group: 5
MOTD until Oct 09
TAXED until March
Completely standard outside apart from sensible looking wheels & being lowered.
2 previous lady owners from new (excluding myself), looked after very well, Washed once a week / 2weeks (if it's not pouring down with rain) full service history before and after purchase. Maintained by my cousin, who is a qualified Peugeot technician & my partner. This car drives beautifully & has been very reliable in the time I have had her since passing my test.
Selling due to an upgrade of Peugeot (206 180 or 106 gti) eh
Since I have had her I have only covered 4,000 miles.*

Low milage for year.........when its done 120000 miles!!

What`s wrong with 120.000 miles?
If it`s a big engined beemer/merc/lexus etc it`s only just ran in!
Only ever had two cars out of 76 that had low miles.
The two in my profile,56k and 5k.
Nowt wrong being a little leggy imo.
My Bmw 328 has got about that on too, but I would not put low milage for year on the advert if I was to sell. If it`s a big engined beemer/merc/lexus etc it`s only just ran in!

I was meaning adverts with the old bangers you see, rusty as f
k, and then the phrase.steve.c said:

Without seeing a picture many people will infer about the vehicle. I personally thought...
1. The car would look dodgy by only having skirts and not a full body kit.
2. The tyres would be $hagged due to it been lowered and new wheels (probably bigger), which would make me assume they would rub when on full lock
3. That the Washing the car thing was bull$h1t, no offence but it normally is.
4. First car you've had since your test, how would you know if a car drove beautifully, beautifully IMO is not a techincal way to describe how a car drives.
5. Since passing your test would tell me the car has got a 90% chance of been thrashed.
Sorry to pick holes in everything you wrote!! :-)

There's something even more worrying about this advert.
The seller's name is "Sarah Shearman" but she (perhaps) describes the car as having "two previous lady owners, excluding myself". If Sarah Shearman is female then shirley it would make sense to say "three lady owners".
What is going on?

Are you from the same village? The seller's name is "Sarah Shearman" but she (perhaps) describes the car as having "two previous lady owners, excluding myself". If Sarah Shearman is female then shirley it would make sense to say "three lady owners".

Not defending the person, but i 'think' your all reading it wrong (unless that is the intention) as i think she means its is maintained by her cousin, a peugeot mechanic, and also maintained by her partener. I dont think she means them to be one and the same.
sorry to look into this sensibly, but i feel i must for some reason.
