Before the ban millions of people were capable of using a phone and texting while driving quite safely. Admittedly there will alway be people who find even the basics of driving AND DOING NOTHING ELSE complex and are consequently no good at it but it continues to irk me that this law is another "lowest common denominator" law.

bks. Talking is one thing, texting another entirely. There is absolutely no defence, ever, for texting at the wheel.Mars said:

I still don't think a decent case was made for talking on a mobile phone whilst driving, but texting whilst driving offenders should be shot. I don't believe you can text blind with any accuracy and drive a car competently at the some time.
