My dad had one after some silly bint drove into his Volvo 240. He hated it, he said the top corner of the door deliberately poked him in the back whenever he got out. Replaced it with a nice Saab 900i.

Makes it stand out, gets people talking, might result in a quick sale. A bit like that racing car for sale a while back with "one lady owner, never been thrashed etc etc" in its description

My mates dad had a MG Monte-no-go a silver b reg, as kids we all loved it. It got stolen six times (YES SIX!) and the Police kept finding it, on the last occasion it was wrote off!

Let's face it, you'd have to be slightly silly to want to buy it. It's probably quite a good way to qualify potential buyers. If they're not put off by the ad, then they are quite likely to buy it!

I believe someone started remaking the Diesel engined variant some time ago, vaguely remember seeing an advert in practical classics for them!

In 1997, Parkway Services of Ledbury, Herefordshire, purchased a batch of 621 Maestro cars and vans in CKD kit form. These had been stored at Cowley, Oxfordshire, since their production in mid-1996, when they became surplus to requirements. The company built up the cars and converted the majority of them to RHD form using up Rover's supply of parts.
